8 Reasons To Start Yoga

01
Improve your flexibility

Continuing with a regular yoga practise can help to improve flexibility and mobility. Over time ligaments, tendons and muscles lengthen which increases elasticity.

02
Increase your strength

Yoga poses use all the muscles in the body which helps to increase overall strength and flexibility. Additionally, doing this may help to relieve muscular tension.

03
Reduce your stress levels

Help find ways to relax, slow down your breath, and to quieten the mind. During relaxation, yoga can help to lower the levels of the stress hormone cortisol.

04
Improve your breathing

Deep, slow breathing can improve the lung capacity. In yoga we breathe in and breathe out through the nose and this promotes a calming and more efficient breath.

05
Help with pain management

Practising yoga poses and relaxation can help to ease and manage pain. It can be beneficial for people with various conditions i.e. arthritis, back pain, multiple sclerosis and many more.

06
Lead a more balanced life

Practising yoga can help to promote self awareness, self acceptance and a sense of connection and fulfilment. In yoga we are reminded to bring our attention to the present moment.

07
Improves your posture

Many yoga poses can help to improve your posture. Over time by practicing correct alignment, stretching and lengthening of the spine you can learn how to hold yourself correctly.

08
Improve your sleeping

Regular practise of yoga may improve your sleep quality and help you to feel less fatigued. Yoga and breathing practices help to slow down the mind so you feel more relaxed and calm.
