Yoga not only benefits us physically but mentally, emotionally and spiritually. There are many qualities that we develop on the mat whilst practising and the more we work with them the more they benefit other areas of your life.

Yoga Beyond the Mat

Yoga isn’t about what you can or can’t do, it’s a way to open up to the present moment and encourage growth by helping to shift patterns that have developed over time which in turn allow us to feel joyful and connected to our true essence of our being.

Week 1 - Yoga for Kindness

Yoga starts off with being kind to yourself, being able to let go of tensions that we hold in, connecting with our body and allowing ourselves to accept and honour our limitations in our physical body. This then extends out by working with being kinder to others, and developing our skills for listening to others.

Week 2 - Yoga for Patience

Our life often lives at a high speed pace with pressure to get things done quickly and moving without pause from one task to another. We may at times feel constantly rushed. Yoga is about cultivating peace and consciousness. If you move too quickly without thought you will lose the the essential foundation of yoga. Patience allows us to stay connected to the moment rather than constantly jumping ahead to the future.

Week 3 - Yoga for Gratitude

Gratitude is the practice of acknowledging and honouring what we already have. It can help us by getting out of our head and reminding us of all the positive things in our life. Gratitude allows us to unlock the fullness of our life. We can cultivate an attitude of of gratitude in our yoga practice by working with contentment and being more connected to life.

Week 4 - Yoga for Courage

Courage in our yoga practice is about trusting ourself fully and believing in ourself. While practising on our mat we find the opportunities to explore, connect and grow which help us develop and transform. Yoga allows us to come back to centre and connect back to our heart’s truth. We cultivate courage when we expand the heart and start to release fear.

The success of Yoga does not lie in the ability to perform postures but in how it positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships.
