In a really strange and unexpected twist, and the day after our charity class last Sunday, Vicky was contacted by Angela Thompson of the British Wheel of Yoga asking her to become the BWY County Representative for Hertfordshire with myself becoming BWY Events Organiser for Hertfordshire in the process.
Both roles are in a volunteering capacity, and we’re flattered to have been asked and are more than happy to give the roles a go. We’ll take things as we find them, and just see what happens…
The Twelve Regions of the BWY
In case you’re interested there are twelve BWY regions, Scotland, North, Yorks & Humberside, North West, East Midlands, West Midlands, Wales, Eastern, South West, South and South East.
Our Region (the Eastern region) is broken up into Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, East Essex, West Essex & East London, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.
The Roles
Vicky’s role as county representative will be to promote Yoga in the community, offer support to members and deal with enquiries. Organise In Service Training Events and one First Aid course a year. We’ll also attend and participate in regional meetings and the Regional AGM and also the Regional Yoga Festival.
Angela was very happy that we’d be doing much of this role together, with organising and various events being handled by Richard. It really is a great opportunity for us to be more involved with the BWY, and it’s a great confidence boost for Vicky.
Good For Everyone
It’s really nice that the last ten months work seems to have been recognised by an organisation like the BWY. It was also great news to come the day after such a good afternoon with the charity class.
It’s also good for all of you that come to classes that Vicky is thought of that way by the BWY, and hopefully it backs up your reasons for coming along to her classes.
